Alaska
rootEd Alaska was founded in 2024, and to date has served 32 rural high schools with 554 students.
rootEd Alaska is part of the Alaska Career Guide initiative, a public–private partnership among the Department of Labor and Workforce Development (DOLWD), the Department of Education and Early Development (DEED), the Bristol Bay Regional Career and Technical Education (BBRCTE) Consortium, and Sealaska Heritage Institute. Together, we align education and workforce services, grounding the work in Alaska's cultural and regional strengths.
"The Career Guide initiative aligns with our mission to prepare Alaskans for the jobs of tomorrow, and we're proud to partner to bring this important resource to Alaska's rural schools," said Catherine Muñoz, DOLWD Commissioner. "By connecting education and workforce, we're helping ensure that young people can thrive in their local communities."
